Painted Desert Trading Post Revisited – Arizona

Long exposure photograph of our most favorite Route 66 spot, the Painted Desert Trading Post, because it’s – quite literally – off the beaten path. Thanks to some 66 friends and trusty Professor Bill, we were able to get inside the locked cattle gate and drive our van to this mystical white whale (rather than hike like last time!) While taking lots of daytime shots and shooting some video, we accidentally stayed till dusk. Which means …while we weren’t planning to light paint her a second time … we sure did. She’s just such a temptress! Our first light painting at sunset, with the gorgeous Painted Desert as a backdrop, and yellow from our Protomachines flashlight.
