Palace Vestibule – Gary, Indiana
$40.00 – $525.00
Long Exposure Photograph of the lobby inside the Palace movie theater in Gary, IN, built in 1925, when Gary, Indiana, was quite a different place, in quite a different time. While it closed in 1972, Donald Trump renovated the front of it in 2002, when the Miss USA pageant was held in Gary, at the Genesis, just a few blocks north of the Palace. Fire and water damage have taken what used to be a grandiose, opulent gem and turned it into an urban explorer’s mecca: curious visitors who come to appreciate a different sort of beauty. Blue strobes illuminate the historical decay.
