Marquette House – Kansas

SKU: MARQL Category:

Long Exposure Photograph of an old farmhouse that still stands fearless against the prairie winds that whip through the heart of Kansas. The remains of a giant tree, which kept watch for a century or two, finally rests its weary bones all over the front yard. The roof peels away bit by bit to reveal more star clusters and cloud puffs, depending on the weather that day. A fearless Swedish Stock settled here in Kansas – a spot in the country where they had to use limestone for fence posts because trees were so scarce – much like the history about this stoic little spot on the map. All we have our memories imagined, tucked into the dark corners, with white flashlights as our only guide.
