Long exposure photograph of a western-Illinois home with Italianate-style architecture. We almost turned around once that cloud cover took over, but gut instinct (and Illinois tolls already paid) told us to press onward. Without a moon, it was far too dark to take a proper photo…until we flipped on our powerful Protomachines flashlight and bathed the front with white light ourselves. Careful to avoid falling down the staircase with no banister, I must’ve climbed the steps a dozen times to get that blue glow just right. Now one of our favorite pieces, we’re grateful to have spent a few hours on the prairie on this moonless, late-winter evening
