Henning Motel – Newberry Springs, California

Long Exposure Photograph of the Henning Motel tucked on the outskirts of the Mojave, west of Barstow on old Route 66. As semi-trucks screamed by on I-40, and the full moon scorched the white beast, Katie worked quickly to duck into all the rooms and light each by hand with a red strobe, ghosts of their former residents not far behind. While the motel has since been obliterated, the iconic googie sign lives on as Route 66 travelers roll by to visit the legendary Bagdad Cafe next door, often packed full of European travelers hankering for a greasy plate of legendary American grub.
