Coffee on the Balcony – Hopper Township, South Dakota
$40.00 – $525.00
Long Exposure Photograph of a gorgeous two-story house complete with east-facing balcony that may have been the perfect morning tradition for the prairie family who once lived here. Take in the sunrise, survey your land, with absolutely no foresight that a roaring interstate would one day sit just a half mile from your doorstep. As we braved the winds that crisp full moon night, it was hard to say which was louder, the gales or the semi-trucks. This gem caught our eye a year prior on our way back to Wisconsin along I-90. We tucked it away in the GPS of our memory banks and literally organized our whole trip the following year around this one magical place. Not knowing whether or not it was still standing, not knowing if we’d be able to sneak inside or get up to the second floor, we hoped for the best. Luck was definitely on our side. Upon our return, there she rested, a little worse for wear, but still standing proud against the prairie gusts. The inside was nerve-wracking to traipse through, feeling the sway underneath your feet, but you get used to it. Orange from our Protomachines flashlight gave the ol’ gal a much needed glow as the moon lit the rest.
