Jericho – Texas
$30 – $495
Long exposure photograph of what appears to be a Ford Super Deluxe abandoned in the Route 66 ghost town of Jericho, Texas. The town was originally founded as a station on the Chicago, Rock Island, and Gulf Rail Line at the turn of the 20th century. Sadly, it was positioned on one of the last remaining dirt road stretches along 1930s-era Route 66, which made for tough travel and mud-lodged autos. Soon 66 was rerouted at the paved stretch, which left Jericho to fend for itself and eventually succumb to its abandoned state. But it’s easy to imagine a healthy country life out here before the interstate and wind farms took over the landscape. So easy to imagine, in fact, that the entire townsite has been recently purchased by a young couple with the intent to preserve its history and bring it back to life! Our blue and green Protomachines flashlight give you just a taste of what’s to come.
